The Institute for Research on Eretz Israel at Yad Ben-Zvi is offering a Jewish Historical Research Internship. They are specifically looking for an intern with an interest in Israeli history who has basic computer skills for the purpose of archiving historical photographs. Interns will participate in rescuing historical visual collections (mostly photographs) by means of scanning, photographing and graphic editing. Some of the collections are stored in the archive itself while others are scattered around Jerusalem and Israel. The students will join us for documentation meetings with collection owners. Interns will also research archived material, reports and abstracts about Jews in North Africa during WWII for the YBZ online database.
Requirements: English, if possible French, German or Arabic
The Documentation Center of North African Jewry during WWII at the Ben-Zvi Institute collects materials in archives in Israel and abroad, and uploads the items to an online database, open to all in various languages.
Join our staff in exposing this historical episode, and revealing the unknown story of the Jews in Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and Morocco during the Holocaust via social media, events and research.
